Bert B. Weinstein Leadership Institute
January 2–5, 2026 at Camp Ramah in California (Ojai, CA)
Weinstein is the National Ramah Commission's signature counselor training and leadership program for incoming senior counselors. Participants work with Ramah directors and senior staff to hone critical skills, enhance programming, and share best practices from across the Ramah movement.
Louis & Shoshanah Winer Institute for Rosh Edah Training
May 25–27, 2026 at Ramah Darom (Clayton, GA)
Winer is our signature training program for first-time and vatik (veteran) rashei edot. Participants gain intensive training in preparation for their roles as leaders, educators, supervisors, and care providers.
Mishlachat Training Seminar
The annual orientation session for 500+ new Israeli staff members is held annually each spring in conjunction with The Jewish Agency for Israel. This conference brings together a cohort of year-round Ramah professionals to train and welcome Israeli shlichim for the upcoming kayitz.
Ramah Goes Global
Ramah Birthright Israel Onward Missions for Summer 2025 Staff | May 2025
In May 2025, for the second year in a row, the National Ramah Commission invited North American staff members to join us for a week in Israel of volunteering, learning with the Shalom Hartman Institute, bearing witness in the Gaza Envelope, and meeting shlichim (Israeli staff members) before the summer season. Ramah Birthright Israel Onward Missions for Summer 2024 Staff | May 2024
In May 2024, 300 members of our summer 2024 Ramah community—North Americans and shlichim representing each of our North American camps—came together for two powerful back-to-back missions. Read: “Leading 300 Ramahniks in Israel for Volunteering, Learning, and Connection”
Maslul Yisrael (2022 and 2023) convened a group of returning Ramah staff as they utilized Jewish texts, values, and ideas to explore how Israel fits into their North American Jewish identities. Maslul Yisrael Fellows developed tools and frameworks to foster substantive and compelling educational experiences about Israel at camp. In partnership with the Shalom Hartman Institute, and supported by The Immerman Foundation. Read more
Maslul Argentina (2022) combined working at a Jewish summer camp outside of Buenos Aires, meaningful service in the historic Jewish communities of Entre Rios, and time in the vibrant city of Buenos Aires, home to the largest Jewish community in Latin America. A partnership with Shalom Corps, supported by the Morton M. & Miriam Steinberg International Travel Fellowship and The Immerman Foundation. Read more
