Jonathan Sherman
Board Chair

Jon currently serves as NRC board chair. Previously, in his role as senior vice president, he was responsible for NRC’s legal matters. In this role, Jon advised the NRC’s professionals and lay leaders on issues including contract negotiation and compliance, risk management, and employment matters. Jon’s connection with Ramah began in 1969 as a camper at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin, which he later served as a board member and president. A graduate of the University of Michigan and Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, Jon practiced law in Chicago for more than 40 years.  

Jon and his wife, Fran, are frequent visitors to Israel and active members of North Suburban Synagogue Beth El in Highland Park, Illinois. They are especially proud of their children, who were all Ramah Wisconsin campers and staff members, their children’s spouses, and their grandchildren.
