Position Summary
Camp Ramah in the Poconos seeks a passionate and results-driven Major Gifts Officer to join our collaborative advancement team. The Major Gifts Officer will play a critical role in achieving our annual fundraising goals, with a primary focus on identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors ($10,000+). This position will directly support our $2 million annual revenue goal and contribute to the long-term sustainability and vibrancy of the Camp Ramah community.
This individual will report to the Director of Advancement and work alongside a dynamic team including a Development & Alumni Associate and a Database & HR Associate.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow a portfolio of 75–100 major donors and prospects, with a focus on individual giving.
Develop and execute individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies to secure gifts of $10,000 and above.
Conduct regular donor meetings, with a goal of 8–10 meaningful interactions per month.
Partner with the Director of Advancement on major gift strategy, prospect research, and campaign planning.
Collaborate with staff and lay leaders to deepen donor engagement and connect them to Camp’s mission and priorities.
Craft compelling donor communications and proposals in coordination with the development team.
Track all interactions in the donor database (Salesforce) and provide regular progress reports.
Support special campaigns, events, and legacy giving initiatives as needed.
Represent Camp Ramah in the Poconos at community and donor events throughout the year.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of professional fundraising experience, with a proven track record in major gifts fundraising.
Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with strong organizational skills, follow-through, and attention to detail.
Knowledge of the Jewish philanthropic landscape and enthusiasm for Jewish summer camping is a strong plus.
Familiarity with Salesforce or similar donor database systems.
Ability to work some evenings, weekends, and infrequent travel regionally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Deep appreciation for the mission of Camp Ramah and personal connection to Jewish camping or Jewish communal life.
Experience working within a small team and wearing multiple hats.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000 commensurate with experience.
