Ramahniks and Mishlachat Meet Up at Ellis Island

August 2002

You never know when you might meet up with a Ramahnik!   During a late summer visit to Ellis Island, former Ramah Berkshires camper, counselor and rosh edah Dr. Scott Siegel and his wife Estelle overheard some young tourists speaking Hebrew.  It turns out that two of these tourists had been mishlachat members at Ramah camps this past summer.  Pictured below is mishlachat member Kasa Bayisin, who worked at Camp Ramah in the Poconos, along with the four Siegel children. All four of the Siegel children attend the Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva in Highland Park, New Jersey.  The photo credit goes to the children's grandfather, Noel Siegel, a Camp Ramah in the Berkshires board member and former member of the National Ramah Commission.  [From left to right:  Joshua Siegel (12),  Kasa Bayisin, Rachel Siegel (9), Jacob Siegel (7) and  Rebecca Siegel (4)]
