We are very pleased to announce that Avi Friedman will join the National Ramah Commission, and assume his new position as the National Director of Development and Institutional Advancement on July 5, 2009.
Most recently, Avi served as the Associate Director of Talent Recruitment for Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, where he was responsible for developing and implementing Hillel’s executive recruitment and placement strategy across the country. Before joining Hillel, Avi spent three years at the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland, as part of a campaign team that raised more than $30 million annually. At the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland, Avi’s roles included the Director of Young Leadership Division and Assistant Director of the Philanthropic Planning Department.
Avi’s background includes a deep connection to Ramah, having attended Ramah Day Camp in Nyack and Camp Ramah in the Berkshires as a camper, and participating in the Ramah Israel Seminar. He served as a counselor at Ramah in the Berkshires, and as a Rosh Edah and Summer Assistant Director at Ramah Day Camp in Nyack. Avi received his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters in Jewish Communal Service from Brandeis University.
