Ramah Darom (Georgia)

(opened in 1997)

Located in the heart of the South near Clayton, Georgia, just two hours north of Atlanta, Ramah Darom is nestled in 122 beautiful acres in the Appalachian Valley. Crystal-clear mountain brooks feed the picturesque lake, and an inspiring 100-foot waterfall caps the view.

The site is further enhanced by more than 10,000 acres of wilderness and hiking trails in the adjacent Chattahoochee National Forest. Ramah Darom draws campers, staff, and program participants from 11 southern states: Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and eastern Texas. This summer, over 800 campers and 200 staff members will call Ramah Darom home.

Activities at Ramah Darom include:

  • Aquatics Red Cross swim instruction and free swim daily 

  • Arts Program painting, drawing, ceramics, woodworking, textiles 

  • Challenge Course low ropes course, climbing tower 

  • Challenge Course low ropes course, climbing tower 

  • Field Trips, baseball games, rafting and other exciting adventures

  • Newspaper writing skills, layout, photography 

  • Outdoor Education hiking, camping, campfires, cookouts, environmental awareness 

  • Performing Arts acting, dancing, musical productions 

  • Radio broadcasting and other technical skills 

  • Sports: archery, basketball, beach volleyball, karate, soccer, softball, tennis 

  • Waterfront "blobbing," canoeing, kayaking, surfbiking 

And of course, Judaics is a natural part of camp life at Ramah Darom!
