Camp Ramah in the Berkshires

(opened 1961 in Nyack, NY; re-opened in Wingdale, NY in 1964)

Located 90 minutes north of New York City by car, Camp Ramah in the Berkshires serves the metropolitan New York/New Jersey area.

Camp Ramah in the Berkshires encourages and nurtures each camper's physical, spiritual, social, and emotional growth. Sports programs include basketball, baseball, tennis, volleyball, hockey, Frisbee and soccer. Complete swimming and boating programs, with full American Red Cross certification, are conducted on beautiful Lake Ellis.

General activities include nature, camping, arts and crafts, dramatics, music, dance, photography, and field trips. Special events such as music and dance festivals, Sports Day and Israel Day take place throughout the camp season. The many benefits of group living are emphasized, yet balanced by individual attention to each camper.

Camp Ramah is both a summer camp as well as a Conservative Jewish educational institution. We are committed to providing campers with an opportunity to live a full Jewish life in which one is encouraged to strengthen his or her Jewish identity and commitment. Camp also provides a summer of swimming and sports, study and Hebrew, and outdoor education and drama.
